Les Halles de la Cartoucherie

Les Halles de la Cartoucherie is a 13.500 square meter floor space located in the heart of a historic industrial wasteland in Toulouse, 15 minutes from the center, which was used to manufacture ammunition from the 19th century to the 1990s.

La Cartoucherie became a major business hub in the city employing 1.250 people and producing 500.000 cartridges per day in 1885. During the First World War, the facility underwent a huge expansion, and many workshops were built, including one that is now known as the Halles de la Cartoucherie. From 1990, La Cartoucherie pivoted to electronics, producing casing and cabling for Leclerc tanks. Due to a lack of demand, manufacturing ceased definitively on 31 Dezember 2005.

Les Halles de la Cartoucherie opened its doors in September 2023 as a new community space developed by Redman promoters on behalf of the COSMOPOLIS collective that combines gastronomy, culture, sports facilities, and coworking areas. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities like buying books, attending concerts and shows, taking cooking or drawing classes, climbing or playing squash or working and meeting in a shared space. It offers a wide culinary offering to suit all tastes, covering 3,000 m2 and seating 800 people. Over 22.000 people pass through the food halls every week, making it a popular and vibrant spot.
